THOP THOP THOP

THOP Fest ! I can’t remember if I mentioned this in an earlier blog or not…anyways, this I entered this competition for a chance to perform at THOP Fest 2026 in October. The indie hip-hop scene in the IE and beyond has been active for years and years now; I think it’s my turn to enter the fray. (I swear, my brain can’t express anything via text without sounding corny af haha). Now I was originally going to compete at the Pomona tour date at the end of the month (June 27th), but today the tour reached out and asked if I’d be interested in performing at the High Desert tour date…this Friday(!)

I normally would’ve said nah, but apparently the Pomona date has LOTS of people signed up; meanwhile, the High Desert date (as of this morning) was pretty empty. The idea is that performing in a smaller pool of talent means a better shot at being selected. So, I jumped at the opportunity. Each person gets a 10 minute set; judges choose who gets a 15 minute set at the festival. Judges will choose a winner out of THOSE winners for a spot to perform on the MAIN STAGE! Performing somewhere new, at least new to me. The drive isn’t thaaaaat bad either.

It’s the right decision either way. But I have full confidence that I’ll walk away with a tour spot. Once I pull that guitar out? Maaaaan it’s over for them. Next blog will be the celebration :D
