(Way too) long time no see!

Yikes. Kinda disappeared from this site for damn near 3 months. But nothing’s the matter; I’ve just been lazy. Thinking about what’s gone down in the meantime…

I’ve been writing to more beats from DJ Pain1. I used one of his beats for Let It Go and I really like how many different styles he has. Some of the in-progress tracks: Say It Ain’t So, Let You Know, and Special (all working titles). So I’m ready to wrap them up and keep building a stash of tracks. Also, Pomona Loud is back after a hiatus that felt like forever. Performed last week and tried something new! I performed another new song (Defeat Me) with my guitar on-stage, sitting on its stand. I rapped/sang the whole song and then strapped my guitar on to solo over the last chorus and outro. My guitar is like a safety blanket and I’m used to performing with that thang already on me (stop me if I’ve mentioned this in the past).

That said, I loved it! The goal is to be more active on stage and create my own energy instead of waiting on the audience. I posted a clip of the performance, but only a clip because I didn’t like how the solo turned out xD But I really was satisfied with it all, I swear! I’m taking to calling these PL/open mic videos “Practice Hours”, something I stole from the grime scene. These are supposed to be growing pains and I’ll feel more comfortable presenting it to y’all if I embrace those pains.

How’d I forget? I have BDR studio session this weekend to record some vocals and guitar solos. I’m so excited to work with Paul again; he produced/recorded/mixed Mellow Galaxy, is super chill, and great at his job.

Goals for the week include: a new guitar video for IG, finishing lyrics for Say It Ain’t So, and planning the posts for these new songs I’m recorded. Among other things, like everything else my life consists of. Here’s to progress *BEER*!
