RPM Update: Day 16

Made a quick video of the work I was doing on Day 13. It’s more of a teaser than anything, so here are the important developments:

• Project Length: 6-7 songs

Looks like those aren’t developments, but I swear they are! xD I laid down vocals for two tracks and everything else is baaaasically written at this point (I need to write a verse for one song, finalize lyrics on two others, that sort of thing). After planting so many seeds in the first week of February, about 6 of those ideas feel worth finishing. This is actually pretty similar to my other RPM projects, except now I don’t feel like I need to scrape together 4 more songs by the end of the month. I think the vibe is fairly consistent; I’m looking at about 3-4 ideas similar to the sound of Practice Hours (listen) and 2 acoustic/songwriter-y tracks. With those last two I gotta decide (like, now) whether I’m going to flesh out an arrangement or leave them as guitar/voice songs. Either way I’m feeling great about this EP (Yes! Anything between 5-10 songs is an EP, per RPM guidelines).

Beyond the music, my personal life seems to be settling into a groove that feels comfortable. For a while I was jumping whenever the phone rang and having tragic nightmares. Considering the things I’m seeing with people close to me, I just want to see my loved ones be healthy and comfortable. In reality that’s asking for a lot, I know. But I’m still hoping for the best.

Heard this for the first time in a while and realized it wasn’t in my Liked Songs! I love love love this hook…lowkey, it’s hard not to tear up listening to this track. Someone is going to pop into your head when you listen to this and that’s who you need to reach out to you. Love y’all.
