End of April(!)

Suppppp. I’m so bad at updating this thing. What’ve I been up to since my last entry? My goals for April are (mostly) centered around writing. I’m sitting on some beats I found that give off Cudi vibes (at least to me). I was so excited to start writing to them, until I hit the brick wall known as “writer’s block”. One of these songs is going to be a collab, so there’s even more pressure to get this thing rolling. Still, this is all good news! I’ll have some more tracks in the arsenal and can hoard these until Summer (consistent releases, anyone?).

Besides that I’ve been shedding on this damn guitar. I really hate my lack of mind for improvisation and have spent the last few weeks studying/practicing a few modes that will help spice things up. More importantly I’m building a foundation that’ll allow me to melodies that sound “right”, even if they aren’t super technical. Basically I’m an imposter who is finally learning to play his instrument haha.

Oh! Pomona Loud is tonight. This will be my third performance in a row where I’m strictly rapping. No guitar on stage, like at all. Performing these songs from Fentanyl Chic are a challenge but I can’t wait to have a set that can be 50% w/guitar and 50% without. I realized I do lots of rapping while playing guitar, so having it off for a few songs will make the “He does a bit of everything” vibe a little more pronounced. That’s the logic, anyway.

But enough of that, I don’t wanna trick my brain into thinking I accomplished something just because I spelled it out. If you’re familiar with that thing. Anyways, peace! \m/
