More of the same…
Random af, but I’m currently in a Drake phase via Spotify. I heard First Person Shooter recently for the first time in a while and ended up watching the (insanely cool) music video again. Now I’m stuck on that whole album and I’ll probably be working my way backwards through his discography. Honestly I already see how he’s going to influence this year’s RPM…I was watching the divisional playoffs yesterday and thought of a song called Slant N’ Go. I’d hate to explain it and ruin the surprise, but it’s definitely going to be my take on a Drake song. I tried it once on Ghostwriter, when I hypothetically write a verse for two different rappers (Project Pat and Drake). Now that I think about it…that song may have actually been inspired by Knife Talk off of the Certified Lover Boy album. It actually was because I distinctly remember listening to the track and thinking “They just made a song borrowing Project Pat’s flow and put him on it”. No hate though because that sort of thing can be a fun writing exercise. At the same time, Lil B has plenty of tracks where he’s just rapping like Juvenile for a few minutes lol I guess it’s a mix of things.
Beyond that, it’s looking like the same old stuff this week. Thankfully that isn’t a bad thing.

Last Liked Song: “Away From Home” by Drake
His flow on this one is a catchy as hell. Combine that with some honest and sympathetic lyrics (“Esperanza Spalding was getting all the praises / I’m trynna keep it humble, I’m trynna keep it gracious.”) and I’ve been stuck on this for a few days now.
